Earth Day River Clean Up

At Terrapin we strive to be bigger than beer. We care a lot about our environment and our home...Planet Earth. Through our Terraprint initiative, we aim to minimize our impact on the environment all year. But for national Earth Day, we wanted to do something collectively as a group that leaves a space better than we found it.

That's why in honor of Earth Day, we partnered with REI Co-op and Chattahoochee Riverkeeper to remove trash and litter pollution from a tributary to the Chattahoochee River. Over 35 volunteers participated in the clean-up, which took place at the Vinings-area park along the Chattahoochee River. We split up into several groups to tackle different spaces all along the river to maximize the amount of litter and trash we collected.

While we thoroughly enjoyed getting to clean up, it was also a tough reminder of how much waste makes it into our rivers and stream. In just a few hours, one group alone easily filled the back of a truck with bags of trash. That's why organizations like the Chattahoochee Riverkeeper are so important to protecting these natural resources, and we are proud as a company to be partnered with them and REI.

After the clean-up, everyone more than deserved a nice cold beer so we headed to the Terrapin Brewery and Taproom at The Battery for an after-event gathering. It was great to come together and share our love for sustainability over a cold Terrapin on this beautiful Earth Day. Cheers to Chattahoochee Riverkeeper, REI, and everyone else who came out to participate in this Earth Day river clean up.
