As the weather warms up and the pollen subsides here in Georgia, it signals that it's time for the Terrapin Tribe's second favorite drink (obviously beer comes first), the margarita. This weather also means our spring/summer seasonal, Watermelon Gose, is beginning to hit shelves. So we thought, why not combine the two. And boy are we sure glad we did. So without further ado, we present: The Watermelon Gose Margarita!
4 oz Tequila
2 oz Triple Sec
2 limes, juiced
1 tsp agave syrup (or simple syrup), optional
1 can Watermelon Gose
Combine tequila, triple sec, lime juice, and agave syrup in shaker with ice, and shake. Pour into two glasses (or split ingredients between two glasses of ice and stir). Top each glass with half a can of Watermelon Gose and stir lightly. Enjoy. Repeat.
If you're feeling fancy, feel free to rim your glass with salt before pouring anything into it. Watermelon Gose is already a little salty, so we don't think it needs a salt rim, but whatever floats your boat!
** This recipe can easily be halved if you're not willing to share your Watermelon Gose. Just enjoy the other half of the can as it is, or save for your next cocktail!
This twist on a classic margarita is perfect for warm spring and summer evenings at home around a bowl of chips and salsa. You get bonus points if you use Terrapin glassware and tag us on Instagram when you make your own Watermelon Gose Margaritas!
