Okay, I know what you are asking yourself. “What the heck is a RoggenRauchBier?” Basically I combined two classic German beer styles. One…a Roggenbier made with an abundance of Rye malt and, two…a Rauchbier which is brewed with smoked malt.
This is the first time I have ever experimented with smoked malt. I really didn’t know what to expect. I just tried to balance the smoky malt with the spiciness of the rye malt and the sweetness of the other specialty malts in the beer.
